Gearbox Details:
MHZ's gearbox for the MHZ 6 x 15 Sextett engine (m-1538) increases the output RPM by 100% without changing the direction of rotation. With the6 x 15 Sextett, maximum output RPM increases to 27,600 RPM putting the prop RPM in a hydro-dynamically more efficient range. The housing is from cast aluminum. Precision hardened steel gearing guarantee low losses. To minimize loses further and keep the normal rotation direction for the output shaft, the engine should be positioned with the pull starter closest to the transom and the flex cable running under the engine. The Gearbox housing simply bolts onto the engine housing with 5 hex cap screws. The primary gear slides onto the engine shaft and is held by a bolt screwed into the engine shaft.
