NACA ducts are the most efficient method to extract flow for cooling, combustion air, etc. Used in aerospace and other applications where air is needed with the minimum drag induced. Essentially, this configuration proposed by NACA, the forerunner of NASA, allows recovery of pressures in the 90% plus range of the stagnation pressure. Two NACA ducts in one layup. Tape with masking tape and cut in half with a carbon disk using a Dremel tool. Tack under a flat surface and in place with CA. Finally, laminate each pan to the surface from within with epoxy and glass tape at the flange of the duct . Subsequently cut out the top to form the NACA duct. Dimensions (1 inch = 25.4 mm): |
